Discovering recipes

Search a large recipe database, narrow it with filters, and import any result — it gets scored against your plan on the way in.

Last reviewed

When you are not sure what to make, Discover lets you search a large recipe database and bring anything that looks good straight into your account.

Searching

  1. 1Open Recipes and choose Discover.
  2. 2Type what you are in the mood for — an ingredient, a dish name, or a general idea.
  3. 3Tap a result to import it. It is saved as your recipe and scored right away.

Narrowing with filters

You can refine a search with optional filters:

  • Diet — match how you like to eat, such as vegetarian, vegan, or low-carb.
  • Max calories — set a ceiling so results stay within a per-serving calorie target.
  • Cuisine — focus on a style of cooking you are in the mood for.
Filters narrow what you see, but every imported recipe is still scored against your full health profile — so a result can fit a filter and still come back as Caution or Avoid for you.

Scored against your plan

As soon as you import a recipe, VitalPlate scores it against your profile and shows a Good fit, Caution, or Avoid verdict with reasons. See Understanding your food scores. Want a different starting point? You can also bring in a specific recipe from the web — see Importing a recipe.
