Your data, and what we do with it

Who we are

VitalPlate is operated by Fluent Coding, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: privacy@thevitalplate.com.

What we collect

We collect only what the app needs to work for you:

• Account email — to sign you in and tie your data to your account.
• Health profile — the conditions, medications, allergies, and food reactions you choose to enter. This is what lets us screen recipes and foods for you.
• Your content — pantry items, meal plans, recipe likes/dislikes, and recipes you import.
• Photos you scan — when you scan a menu or pantry item, the image is sent for one-time analysis and is not stored as an image afterward.

How we use it

Your data is used to provide the service: scoring recipes against your health profile, planning your week, building your shopping list, and answering your questions about food. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your health information for advertising.

Service providers

We use a small number of processors to run the app: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Google (Gemini) for the AI that reads menus and analyzes foods. They process your data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments, only to deliver these features.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit. Access is scoped to your account — the app only ever returns your own pantry, plan, and recipes. We follow least-privilege access internally.

Your choices

You can view and edit your health profile, pantry, and plan at any time in the app. You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account and its data by emailing privacy@thevitalplate.com; we will act on verified requests promptly.

Not medical advice

VitalPlate is an informational meal-planning tool, not a medical device, and does not provide diagnosis or treatment. Its food and nutrient assessments are estimates to help you make decisions — always follow the guidance of your own clinicians.

Children

VitalPlate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
